Drug Addiction Rehab Information

In this article, we’re going to refer to the word "drug" as any chemical substance that may become addictive. Drugs are not only illegal substances, such as cocaine, or heroin, they can also be very legal substances such as alcohol, prescription medications, nicotine, and even caffeine. In most circumstances, someone addicted to caffeine will not check themselves into a drug rehab, but for many of the other addictive drugs, drug addiction rehab becomes a very real possibility.

Drug Rehab, is short for Drug Rehabilitation. By drug addiction rehab, one would most likely be referring to a facility or program that assists individuals with drug addiction problems to overcome their addiction and learn how to live a normal life without the need for the addictive substance. Drug addiction rehab is usually considered an option when an individual has an addiction problem that is interfering with their life, relationships, and other important aspects of their life. Drug addiction rehab enables a person to relearn the ways of life without the use of a substance, and teaches them how to deal with stressors, and be a positive, contributing member of society.

Drug addiction rehabs are often seen in two common forms: inpatient drug rehab and outpatient drug rehab. Inpatient drug rehab often consists of an extended stay of the addict, ranging from a week to a few months. The drug addiction rehabs are often staffed by professionals, such as doctors, counselors, psychiatrists, or social workers, in an effort to help the recovering addicts. Some drug rehab centers also hire staff members who themselves are recovered addicts and can directly relate to the individuals seeking the help they need to overcome an addiction. While there are some situations where individuals realize on their own that they have a problem with addiction and choose to enter a drug rehab on their own, there are also some situations where individuals are required to attend a drug rehab by the court system, or because a loved one has insisted that they do so.

Cost of Drug Addiction Rehab

As with anything, there is a cost associated with drug addiction rehab. For some, who have good insurance, their insurance provider will cover all or a portion of the cost to attend a drug rehab. Many insurance plans will agree to cover a maximum of 28 days of inpatient drug rehab, and may only agree to pay for ten or twelve individual therapy drug rehab sessions. For some, who require more than this small amount of drug rehab to overcome their addiction, this can become a problem.

Other financing can come from fundraising. There are some drug addiction rehab facilities that are supported by peer support groups, and don’t charge the participants anything. Other drug rehab programs are ran on a system where the income of the individual in need of drug rehab is evaluated and an appropriate rate is established. Then there are some drug rehab programs that are funded by donations or tax dollars, and cost the participants nothing at all.

Of course, there are also the drug addiction rehab programs that must be paid for out of pocket by the individual. Many times, drug rehab programs like this tend to be the type that encourage longer, extended stays of the patients and offer more support and counseling than that of other programs. A lot of these types of drug rehabs are privately owned, making them ineligible to receive medical insurance coverage. If you are in a situation that requires the attendance of drug addiction rehab, be sure you also inquire about the facilities arrangements for payment plans and other payment options that can make it possible for you to get the help you need.
